New Release – Mission: Her Freedom and Artwork

They are a covert, black ops team known only as Team 52. Their mission: to secure and safeguard artifacts deemed highly dangerous and classified…and protect the women who capture their hearts.

Join Lachlan Hunter and his military team for their high-octane missions.

Hooray! It is release day for the latest Team 52 book, Mission: Her Freedom. I also have some fun, amazing artwork done by my author buddy, Lana Pecherczyk.

A badass combat medic will do anything to save her friend and teammate, but on the run from some very bad guys, she starts to look at her tattooed tech geek friend in a very different way…

Former Naval Intelligence officer Brooks Jameson might have lots of muscles and ink, but he’s a proud geek. He loves computers and his job—taking care of all things tech for his covert, black ops team of badasses—Team 52. But when he finds himself snatched off a Las Vegas street and in the hands of some very bad people who are after a powerful, dangerous artifact, he knows he’s in a fight for survival. Then his teammate Callie Kimura—gorgeous and way-out-of-his-league—strides through the door to rescue him…

Callie’s childhood and career in the Air Force taught her to never risk loving anyone, because losing them leaves you bleeding. She has everything she needs as the medic for Team 52, and when Brooks gets abducted, she’ll do anything to get her friend back. But when they end up on the run together, Callie starts to see the hunky geek in a very different light.

As Callie and Brooks battle to stop a deadly artifact being used in an evil plan, they ignite a scorching desire that shocks them both. But some scars—and the demons that made them—run deep, and Brooks knows he’ll need all his intelligence, patience, and love to convince the beautiful combat medic to let her heart be free.

Mission: Classified
Hero: Tech geek Brooks Jameson
Heroine: Former Air Force pararescueman Callie Kimura

Excerpt from Mission: Her Safety (Team 52 #5) featuring Brooks

Brooks stepped into his favorite Las Vegas computer store. It was packed with parts and equipment. He always loved coming in here.

“Eamon, my man,” Brooks called out.

“Brooks.” The store owner, the same age as Brooks, stepped out from behind the counter. He wore a pair of coke-bottle glasses and a wide smile.

While Brooks had never been the stereotypical geek—he’d loved sports and people too much—Eamon looked every part the cliché nerd. He wore a sweater-vest over his shirt, was round at the waist, and already had a bald spot. But the man had made a killing from his chain of computer stores, so he no longer lived at home with his parents. Last Brooks had heard, he now lived with a tall, well-endowed former showgirl who was head over heels for him.

Eamon’s eyes lit up. “I got it.”

Excited, Brooks watched his friend set a box down on the counter. Brooks flipped it open and saw the part he’d been waiting for. Rare and expensive as hell, it was just what he wanted.

“It took a lot to find it,” Eamon said.

“Great work, buddy.”

“What are you planning to do with it?”

Brooks winked. “Top-secret.”

“Well, enjoy.”

“I’ll transfer payment today.” Brooks picked up the box.

“I know you’re good for it. Tell me how it works out.”

Brooks exited the store. He was late to meet the team at Griffin’s. Everyone wanted to celebrate a job well done and officially welcome River to the team.

Hell, Ty—of all people—had fallen in love. Brooks shook his head. The love bug was definitely going around.

Setting off down the sidewalk, Brooks shifted his shoulders. He wanted to meet someone too. In fact, he wanted the whole package when it came to a woman—sexy, smart, caring. He sighed. Unfortunately, he always seemed to attract the wrong types. It didn’t help that he worked with some of the best women out there—smart, brave, gorgeous.

And way out of his league.

He saw two big guys approaching ahead on the sidewalk and moved to the side to let them pass. He was contemplating how much money he’d lose to Blair at the pool table, when the back of his neck prickled.

The two burly, neckless guys were watching him.

The muscles along Brooks’ shoulders tensed.

Something made him glance back over his shoulder. Two more men were moving in behind him.

Fuck.

He quickly darted left, crossing the street.

The four men broke into a jog, coming after him.

Brooks hustled and launched into a sprint. He’d barely reached the other curb when gunfire broke out behind him.

Shit. He hit the ground, the box with his new part crushed beneath him. He leaped up and ran, dodging between two parked cars.

He kept running, and heard footsteps coming in fast behind him. Ahead, he spotted a small park, just starting to turn green again after the winter. He swiveled, running into it. As he pounded down the path, he dodged some teenagers on skateboards. He reached into his pocket, found his electronic fob, and pressed down on the alert button.

Circling some trees, he leaped over a park bench, and came back out on another street. If he could just get to where he’d parked his truck, he’d be home free.

A heavy force slammed into his legs, tackling him from behind. His box flew out of his hand.

Hitting the ground with a grunt, Brooks rolled, already pulling his fist back. He landed a hard punch to his attacker’s face.

“Fuck!” the man exploded.

Brooks didn’t spend all of his time in his computer room. He worked out daily, and trained with Team 52. He wasn’t afraid of a fight.

He slammed the guy in the head again, kicking his legs. Another punch, and the guy’s eyes rolled back in his head.

Yeah, he’d been expecting a tech geek.

Brooks shoved the guy off him, and leaped to his feet.

Two more men rushed at him. As one swung out an arm, Brooks landed a hard front kick into the man’s gut. He flew backward.

You picked the wrong guy to tangle with, assholes. As the second man moved, Brooks launched into a roundhouse kick. The guy fell like he’d hit a wall.

Another guy stepped back, looking wary.

Suddenly, something pinched Brooks’ chest. An electric shock ran over him, and his teeth clashed together. The pain was agonizing. Fuck.

He looked down to see the prongs of a Taser attached to the front of his shirt.

Fuck. Fuck.

Then his legs gave out and he dropped to the concrete, his body twitching.

Darkness swallowed him whole.

Mission: Her Safety

Team 52 #5

Release Date: Tuesday May 21st

Mission: Classified

Hero: Dr. Ty Sampson

Heroine: Ty’s mysterious intruder

Artifact: Classified

Cover artist: Melody Simmons

Photographer: Furious Fotog / Golden Czermak

Excerpt from Mission: Her Defense (Team 52 #4) featuring Ty

Ty Sampson lifted his hand as his teammates called out goodbyes. They were all outside Griffin’s, heading for their vehicles.

Hands in his pockets, he strolled down the sidewalk. Across the street, he spotted Blair and her detective. MacKade had Blair trapped against the side of his Explorer, kissing the hell out of her. They were completely wrapped up in each other.

Ty shook his head and made his way to his car.

Blair Mason was the last person he’d expected to go soft over a man. Still, he couldn’t argue that she and the detective looked damn happy.

Ty slid behind the wheel of his sleek, sporty Lexus and headed toward his place. He turned down a narrow alleyway lined by warehouses and touched the remote attached to his dash. A roller door moved upward, and he drove inside and killed the lights.

It was a single-story warehouse that had once been a body shop. When he’d bought the place, he’d renovated the front half into an apartment, but he’d left the back as a workshop with parking.

He climbed out, his boots echoing on the scarred concrete floor. Back here, he had a small lab and workshop, where he tinkered with some of his designs. He did most of his work at base, where he had a fully-equipped and decked-out laboratory. But even when he was home, he still liked to fiddle when the urge hit.

Lights clicked on. Ahead was his living area. It was cordoned off with brick and glass walls. A compact kitchen with glossy, dark granite sat in one corner, and his large, black-leather couch dominated the space.

Then he stopped. He scanned the shadowed workshop. Something wasn’t right.

He looked back toward his living area. Then he heard a noise. A door closing?

He reached into the back of his jeans and pulled out his SIG Sauer.

Someone was in his place.

Ty crept through the living area and past the kitchen, his boots silent on the polished concrete floors. He walked down the hall leading to the bedrooms—guest room, office, and his master.

He stopped at the threshold to his bedroom.

Even without the lights on, he saw it looked as it always did—warm woods and shades of gray, his big bed in the center of the room. It was neatly made, since he’d been at Area 52 all week. He was usually at the base more than he was home.

Cautiously, he walked into the room. There was no sign of anyone. He stalked toward his large, walk-in closet.

Suddenly, the doors burst open, and a figure in black surged out.

Fuck.

The intruder slammed into Ty and they hit the ground, rolling across the wooden floor. Ty grunted, wrestling to get hold of the man.

Then he felt breasts smashed against his chest.

A woman. What the hell?

An elbow connected with his jaw, snapping his head back. Ty saw stars and let out a stream of curses.

While he was dazed, his intruder leaped to her feet and ran.

Dammit to hell. Ty jumped up and gave chase.

He crashed through the living room, seeing no sign of her.

He heard something crash in his workshop and swiveled. When he charged out into the workshop, he saw her running along the top of one of his work benches. She ran straight for one wall, leaped, then clung there for a moment and began to climb the bricks. Like a damn spider.

Rushing toward her, he watched as she ascended to one of the high windows up near the ceiling. She shoved the window open, then glanced back. She wore a half mask over her face, but their gazes met for a second.

Ty felt a jolt.

Then she climbed out the window.

“Dammit!” He ran for the small door set in the roller door, shoved it open, and sprinted into the alley. He skirted around his warehouse, searching for his intruder.

Nothing. He paused. He didn’t even hear footsteps, just the distant sound of a siren.

Jaw tight, he went back inside, locking up behind him. He needed to check his goddamned security system. All those windows were wired, but she’d bypassed his system somehow.

He moved through his space, checking to see if anything was missing. Or if his intruder had left anything behind.

A quick search turned up nothing. Ty spent extra time in his lab and finally released a breath. Nothing appeared out of place. He’d still pull out his scanners and check for bugs or cameras.

He pressed his hands to his hips and ground his teeth together. Nothing looked out of place, nothing looked like it was missing.

Ty hated anyone in his space, messing with his things. It didn’t matter if it was his home or his lab.

Who was she? And what the hell did she want?

Excerpt from Mission: Her Security (Team 52 #3) featuring Blair

Blair Mason watched through the doorway as Smith sat beside Kinsey’s bed.

The big man was murmuring quietly, and even though Kinsey looked small and pale propped up on the pillows, she was smiling.

It wasn’t her usual beaming smile, but it was something.

Thank God. Kinsey was fine and Smith looked alive again.

During the tense hours in the waiting room, Smith had been like a statue—cold and still. His brown eyes had been devoid of…everything.

Blair watched as he leaned over and kissed Kinsey.

Jesus. Blair felt her heart clench. They were so damn cute together. Smith was a big, tough guy. Blair had fought alongside him so many times, and trusted him with her life. She knew he loved his solitude and his cabin near the mountains. Knew he loved nothing more than the serene beauty of the Colorado mountains.

She never, ever imagined seeing him like this. In love.

Blair had watched three of her teammates—three of the toughest guys she knew—fall in love. First Lachlan, then Seth, and now Smith. They were all unashamed to show how they felt about the women who’d captured their hearts.

Blair had always thought she wanted that. A man who loved her inside and out, for exactly who she was, and wasn’t afraid to show it.

And yet… That kind of man was hard to find. And she’d spent the last few hours sitting in the waiting room down the hall, watching Smith being torn to shreds.

Maybe love wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.

“You called it.” Lachlan appeared beside her. “The bigger they are…”

“Yeah.” Blair pushed her maudlin thoughts away. Besides, she’d never met a man who made her feel anything remotely close to love. In fact, most men—after a quick, pleasant tussle—annoyed her.

Anyway, she had zero time to date. She couldn’t really share the truth of her work with a man, and she found most guys…kinda boring.

“The artifact?” she asked Lachlan.

Her best friend lifted his chin. “All packed up. Seth’s guarding it at the X8 until we’re ready to head home. It’s beaten up. Arlo and Ty are going to have a shit hemorrhage.”

“Ty will fix it.” Blair paused. “So, another mission over.”

“Yeah. The military police from Cheyenne Mountain took all the surviving Cosca Unita people into custody. Mission’s over and we can go home.”

For Lachlan now, home meant his woman, Rowan. Blair was happy as hell for him.

Lachlan’s golden gaze moved to Smith and Kinsey. “Could have done without Kinsey taking a bullet to the gut, though.”

“She’s okay.”

“Yeah. And so is Smith.”

“Well, once we get home, we’ll have to enjoy some downtime before we need to save the world again,” Blair said.

Lachlan tossed an arm around her shoulders. He’d been her best friend for years, from their time in Force Recon. Why were all the best men she knew her friends and colleagues? Guys who were like brothers to her?

“You won our last poker game,” Lachlan said, interrupting her thoughts. “I want a chance to win some money back.”

Blair grinned. “No such luck. You are going down, Hunter.”

He smiled back.

Blair kept her smile plastered on her face. She had good friends and work she loved. She didn’t need a man.

Excerpt from Mission: Her Rescue (Team 52 #2) featuring Smith

The SUV’s lights cut across the squat building of the Bunker and the attached aircraft hangar.

There were no vehicles outside, but Smith saw lights on inside. He hoped beyond hope that she was in there, doing some urgent work.

He cut the engine and the team stepped out of the SUV. As they approached the front door, they all scanned their surroundings.

As they got close, Smith saw that the door to the Bunker was ajar.

Dammit. It was always locked. His chest went solid and he reached back, pulling his SIG Sauer from under his jacket.

The others pulled out their handguns—SIGs, except for Axel who swore by his Glock. Even at a wedding, Team 52 was armed.

With a nod from Lachlan, Smith went first. He kicked open the door and moved inside.

Fucking hell. He froze. He couldn’t breathe.

“Damn,” Lachlan said.

The place was a mess. Filing cabinets had been tipped over, Kinsey’s desk was overturned, and books and papers had been flung all over the floor.

“Stay focused,” Lachlan said in a cool, controlled tone. “Clear the building.”

The team moved in formation, fanning out. Smith went with Lachlan, and they cleared the other rooms. Blair, Axel, and Callie moved to the hangar and the holding cells below.

“Clear.”

“Clear.”

“Clear.”

Smith lowered his gun. There was no sign of Kinsey or anyone else. He felt the blood pounding in his veins like a drum.

Kinsey—delicate, sweet Kinsey. When she smiled, it was like a light shone out of her. She’d watched him. Smith had sure as hell noticed. Once, she’d made a super-cute, drunken pass at him.

It had taken all his willpower to gently turn her down.

She’d avoided him for a few weeks after, but it hadn’t been long before her smile had reappeared. But she still watched him.

And when she wasn’t looking, Smith watched her as well. Oh, he’d looked his fill of her—round ass, long legs, shiny, blonde hair. Hell, even her nose was cute, and the pretty sweep of her collarbones, and her delicate wrists.

Fuck.

Blair moved over to straighten the chair near the desk. Kinsey loved that stupid pink, ergonomic chair.

Then Blair went still. “No.”

Gut curdling, Smith pushed forward. There was blood splattered on the floor.

No. He tried to pull in air, feeling dizzy. No.

Callie knelt. “It’s not enough blood to have killed her. If it is hers.”

“Someone took her,” Smith growled. “The fucker is a dead man.”

“Lachlan,” Axel called out from near the door.

There was a small shelf, where Kinsey kept a bowl of candy. She stocked it with all their favorites. Now, there was a cell phone and a note sitting beside it.

They crowded around, and Lachlan lifted it with his gloved left arm.

We have something of yours, and you have something we want. We propose a trade. Wait for our call.

There was a strange logo at the bottom. A circular, bird-like design.

All Smith could hear was a roaring in his ears. Some bastards had Kinsey.

Smith turned and slammed his fist into the wall. It plowed through the drywall with a puff of dust.

“Cool it.” Lachlan’s golden gaze was no longer cool. The man was pissed, but was keeping a tight hold on it.

“We have to find her,” Smith growled.

“We will,” Lachlan said. “Axel, lock up the Bunker. Blair, call Brooks now, and tell him what’s going on. We’ll use my condo as a base of operations.” Lachlan looked at each of them. “We’re going to find her and get her back.” Lachlan’s gaze landed on Smith’s for an extra second. “We’re going to find her.”

And they’d make whoever had done this pay. Smith’s fingers curled, his knuckles cracking.

Wherever you are, Kinsey, hold the fuck on.
